Mojo Village Teen Camp

Be You. With Us.

Hey! Welcome to Teen Camp!

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering—is this my kind of thing? The short answer? If you’re up for adventure, real friendships, and an experience that actually means something, then yeah—you’re in the right place.

So what exactly happens at Camp? Picture this: one moment, you’re climbing a rock face, reaching the top and taking in the most breathtaking views of camp and the lake. The next, you’re paddling across the lake in kayaks, laughing with new friends. Maybe you’re throwing axes like a Viking, practicing archery, or jumping in on a game of Gaga ball. And at the end of the day, you’re sitting around a fire, swapping funny stories about bad first dates, or hiking silently under the stars, taking it all in. This camp is designed for experiences you won’t find anywhere else—ones that challenge you, inspire you, and bring you closer to the kind of people who just get you.

Still not sure? Maybe you're wondering if you'll fit in, if it's worth stepping outside your comfort zone, or if it’s better to just sit this one out. That’s normal. But here’s the thing—every great experience starts with a little uncertainty. And the best stories? They come from moments when you say yes to something new. If a part of you is even a little curious, trust it. That’s your sign. Step into the adventure and come hang out with us!

Frequently Asked Questions

What will my sleeping conditions be like?

You'll be sleeping in open bunk buildings called Adirondacks, or in group tents. It's a fun, social sleep setting where you can fall asleep with friends, old or new. You also have the option of bringing a personal tent. It's a good idea to bring a personal tent if you are a very light sleeper, or if you snore or have other conditions that may affect other sleepers. You'll have a chance to request the ability to bring a personal tent when you fill out the registration form.

What is the food like? What if I have dietary restrictions?

Sunrock High Adventure Camp has an onsite caterer that knows what teens love! Here are some foods you can expect to eat.

Breakfast: Waffles, Egg Sandwiches, Breakfast Burritos, French Toast or an Omelet Bar.

Lunch: Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Carne Asada Taco bar, Brisket Sandwiches, Hoagies with sides such as fruit, chips and/or salad.

Dinner: Hawaiian Rice Bowls, Asian Stir-Fry, Korean BBQ, Meat Sauce Spaghetti all served along with tasty sides such as: rolls, salads, fruit, cole slaw and/or baked beans.

If you have dietary restrictions, you'll be prompted to provide this information when you complete the registration form. We will be able to accommodate most common dietary restrictions.

What clothing/gear do I need for the camp?

We've made a list with everything you need called the Gear Checklist. If you don't have something on the list, we encourage you to see if you can borrow it from friends or family. You'll need everything on the list so be sure you have it all!

What if I really need to contact my parents, or they need to contact me during the camp?

Well, folks, there's no phone reception at the camp so it won't be easy to get in touch with your parents. If there's an emergency, we can always give you a ride into town where we'll have reception to make a call. And we'll also check in daily to see if parents have sent us any urgent messages. For all non-emergency needs we'll have understanding staff who will be well equipped to support you through anything that comes up!

What if I need to take medication during the camp?

If you need to take medication, you'll be responsible to administer it yourself during the camp. If this doesn't work for some reason, let us know and we'll try to find a solution. When you register, you'll be prompted to let us know about any medication issues so we know how to support you! We will have appropriate camp medical officers on site.

Is there a discount if I get a sibling to join me at the camp?

It's a bummer, but we can't really offer sibling discounts this year. We're making lots of investments to make sure this first camp is amazing! But we hope to offer sibling discounts in future years.

If I know someone who would be an amazing camp counselor, how can I introduce you?

Awesome! If you know someone we should meet, just shoot us an email introduction to the person. You can use our email: [email protected]. Thanks for thinking of us!

Can parents or adult siblings be camp counselors?

Yes, it's possible although it's not always the right move. We make this decision based solely on what's best for the teen attending the camp. Feel free to reach out and let's talk about it!

What if I have a schedule conflict during part of the camp?

Well, here's the deal. If we allowed teens to leave camp to go do something else and then come back, it would make it weird for everyone else who is committed the whole time. So if you leave early, you won't be able to come back. Sorry! We hope you understand! If you do decide to leave early we need to know about it at least a week before the camp begins.

Can I invite my friends so I know other people at the camp? Can I be in the same pod as my friends?

It's a great idea to invite friends! While we can't promise you that you'll be in the same pod, we can promise that you'll have plenty of time to hang out and do fun stuff together.

What's the shower and toilet situation?

Good news! There are loads of port-a-potties around camp and you'll even have limited access to warm, personal showers. It's nothing fancy, but it's much better than pooping in the woods.

Are there any guidelines as far as wearing makeup?

As far as makeup goes, we hope you'll keep it pretty simple/minimal. You see, at camp, we’re all about adventure! And keeping makeup minimal lets you dive into the fun while embracing your natural, awesome self. We think you'll like how it feels to have a little break from the pressure of looking fabulous all the time so you can focus on deeper conversations, sunsets, and just having a great time, all of which will help you connect with the deep beauty that comes from simply being you.

What will the weather be like? How should I pack?

We've timed our camp to hopefully miss both the cold and the mosquito seasons. July and August in the high Uintas are pretty moderate, with the high around 80 degrees and the low around 45. You should follow the Gear Checklist when you pack and be prepared with layers so you can warm up, cool down, and be ready in case we get some afternoon rain storms.

Can I bring a musical instrument?

Oh yeah! We'd love that. Of courser not all instruments are portable enough or tough enough for camp life. But harmonicas, guitars, and other smaller instruments that you can pack or move around easily and that don't need to be babied can really add to the vibe around camp.

Is there a dress code I have to follow?

Yeah, but it's pretty chill. Everyone needs to wear a shirt/tank and shoes/sturdy sandals, except when you're on or in the water. Then you can wear swimsuits and flip flops.

What technology am I allowed to bring? Is there anything that's not allowed?

One of the benefits of this camp is that it will interrupt your normal life and give you a chance to clear up your energy and reconnect with the things you care most deeply about. Part of that means taking a break from your phone. The good news is that this camp is remote so there's no cell reception, so everyone else will be without their phones, too! That makes it a little easier.

So as far as rules go, we've got a simple compromise for you. You can have your phone in your tent, but you're not allowed to bring it out. That's the deal. But there's one final thing. You have the option of committing to go "tech free" the entire time, meaning you power off your phone on check-in and leave it off until check out at the end of camp. Everyone who goes “tech free” will receive a funky bracelet or other wearable as a mark of your courage and valor.

How old do I have to be to register, and do you make exceptions?

You're invited to register if you're between the ages of fourteen and eighteen by the dates of the camp. Or, if you're nineteen when camp begins but you just graduated from high school, you can attend, too. But if you're thirteen or younger during the dates of the camp, we encourage you to get excited about next year!

What are the rules around romantic displays of affection?

Okay, we don't have many strict rules at camp but this is one. While we’re big fans of romance, Mojo Village prohibits romantic affection at the teen camp. This means no holding hands, kissing, or other displays of romantic affection at any time, day or night, in public or in private. Teens who break this rule even once will be immediately sent home. We are sticklers about this rule for several reasons, including that romantic affection complicates our job as leaders and impacts parents’ trust in us and the camp, it can quickly shift your focus and energy away from core camp purposes, and it can complicate things for your pod leaders and others in the camp. So develop your crushes, get phone numbers, and make plans for after camp! But keep it chill until after camp ends because we don't ever want to send someone home!!!

Who are the camp counselors going to be? Are they safe people? Are they background checked?

Yes. All of our staff who will interact with you are background checked. We're careful about who we invite into your space! We're making plans to hire many therapists and therapists in training as camp counselors so we have staff who really understand you and know how to support teens. We're going to protect you and take care of you the very best we can, including bringing in counselors who we think you'll absolutely adore (and who will help us keep you safe).

Can I connect with others to talk about ride sharing?

Yes. We are in the process of creating a Facebook page for parents and participants to connect about ride sharing. This is forthcoming!
